Instructional content being engaging is the tipping point for great team building ... because as we know good team building is good team learning.

Engagement is a sign that a learner is actively interested in and motivated by what they are learning.

And it goes without saying that having engaged learners on your team will positively impact its success.

To keep your team members engaged in a learning environment, ask yourself if your content is

  1. Relevant

  2. Organised

  3. Interesting

  4. Current

  5. Interactive

Let’s look at how to tell if your instructional content in relevant.

Your content is relevant if you are connecting to a learner’s immediate needs, or if it solves a problem at work or in their life.

To make your content relevant, try this:

  • Make it immediately valuable to their work/life

  • Keep it work/life focused – stay on track

  • Link it to learners’ career/personal goals

  • Make sure the content level is appropriate for the learners

  • Let learners return to master the content

This is just one factor in many to ensure that your instructional content keep your team engaged.

In the next post, we’ll cover the importance or organization in instructional content and how it plays a key role in learner engagement.

See you then!
