Musical Learners: Here's how to take advantage of your learning style and increase team engagement.

Learn to tap into the strengths of a Musical Learner who is on your team with Hall of Fame Motivational Speaker and team building expert Tyler Hayden and Multiple Intelligence Quotient.

You’re a musical learner if you like to demonstrate things in patterns, rhymes, and mnemonics (like Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally). Like Kinesthetic learners, you’re pretty rare! So, how can you embrace your unique learning style and use it to better team engagement?

Musical learners, try this to improve team engagement:

  • Try to avoid noisy (loud talking, interesting music, traffic) areas when you need to brainstorm with others so that you can focus.

  • Alternatively, try working with chill, nondescript music in the background to help hide distracting noises.

  • Record important meetings and brainstorming sessions with your teams so that you can listen to them again later while working on assignments and projects.

Bonus:

Like logical/mathematical learners, you also appreciate logical sequences, so ask team members to provide step-by-step procedures and outlines for projects and solutions. If there aren’t any, use your pattern-finding abilities and knack for flow to create some.

How do you use your unique musical learning abilities to improve engagement with your team?
