3 ideas to build meaningful remote team meetings and boost engagement
It can be challenging to capture the minds and attention of our team, especially through online interaction.
That’s why spending some time upfront to prepare your delivery is so important.
In the last post (linked in the comments 👇), I introduced three things you can do to create more meaningful remote team meetings.
And as promised, here are three more:
1. Send engagement tools/info ahead of time. Before your meeting, you can increase team engagement by sending them digital downloads. It can be as simple as a worksheet for them to fill out or as fun as using platforms like Kahoot!, Miro, or Polly. 💥 (I recently found this gamified survey tool on has great swiping feature and fully customizable.
2. Studio set up.
Double-check your studio/office. Make sure you have good lighting and internet, a clutter-free background, and a quiet space. Don’t forget to remove physical distractions from your desk such as something you might fiddle with or adjust while speaking. 💥 (Connect with some of your colleagues and have a call to give feedback on your non-green screen background - talk about lighting, decor, colour, etc - the little things mean a lot when your team is focused on your screen).
3. Meaningful slide design.Your slides should be simple and easy to read, but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring! You can include gifs and music when appropriate to shake up the rhythm a little bit and recapture your team’s attention. Send a pdf of the slides beforehand so that your team can follow along more easily and/or take notes. 💥. (If you are really looking to "level-up" your online "performance" add a stream deck by Elgato or use a software like https://www.ecamm.com/ or https://www.butter.us/ to add some bells and whistles to your interaction)
🎤 There you have it!
